I've been having many problems with the wireless internet on my universities campus for over a week now, mostly the fact that it would not let me connect to it. I was given explanations such as the signal was too weak and that there was a problem with my authentification. Now thanks to a very helpful philosophy student I can once again surf the internet on campus. This is after several computer science majors tried to help (I tried to but it didn't really help).
Life at Laurier goes on with much planning and reading and studying and trying to finish setting up our appartment. Maybe even find a couch.

Weekend
Last night was Skiffy's first year social, it went quite well. Good attenance and we all got some pizza which is always good. This weekend looks like there will be a lot of reading, cleaning, and grocery shopping. Get all my readings done for mondays classes, clean my room and likely the kitchen, and get some food for the week. First week went really well, I'm especially enjoying my Early Modern Europe class and Canadian Plays. Tonight is another event and I will hopefully get everything done I need to before then so I can relax on Sunday.

First Day of Classes
Yesterday was the first day of classes for Laurier students. My roommates luckily only had one class each, I on the other hand had four classes to attend. Luckily it was just first day explanations. Though we did watch some Monty Python in The Church and its Impact. Up this term I will be taking Early Modern Europe, The Church and its Impact, Anglo Saxon England, Canadian Plays, and History of Imperial Russia. Today I have my first Imperial Russia class, luckily my only class of the day. Tonight I'm running another Skiffy event we're watching the Watchmen. Hoping for a good turnout. Oh and I tried making souvlaki on the grill, turned out really yummy.

Quiet Saturday
Last night was the first movie night for Skiffy. To which turnout started good but kind of trailed down after the first movie so we decided to call it a night and end early. I had a fun walk home seeing all the silly people walking between parties on my street. So a pretty quiet saturday

Well At Least the Classics Work
Last night we tried one of the classic grill options: burgers. These worked out quite well after they defrosted enought to not be hockey pucks. O-week marches on with yet more work for Skiffy's first event tomorrow night. Not too much news on the Waterloo front, it's pretty quiet. Classes start Monday and I finally printed my schedule. Seems I'm in the same building all day, which is kind of helpful since I'll just have to switch floors. More fun to come stay tuned!

Ouch
No new news on the use of my grill, mostly cause we haven't really used it for anything besides chicken yet. In other events I got a lovely sunburn from standing outside for five hours trying to get first years interested in science fiction. We got a bunch of e-mails but will have to wait until our first event to see who is actually serious about coming. Everyone seemed to have a lot of fun we gave out freezies and played Dr. Who music. Planning events for future events and trying to get stuff ready for classes on Monday

Well Chicken Worked
Well last night marked the first attempt at cooking on the grill. We did some bbq chicken which turned out quite nicely once I learned if you leave the grill closed doing this chicken it will go lovely and black. Anyway we had a lovely dinner followed by hanging out on our porch. Really just our front steps but it was nice outside. Me and my roomie Meagan watched all the people going to parties walk by (there were 4 on our street alone). Tonight we try souvlaki and see how that goes. O-week marches on and tomorrow I work at the Skiffy booth at the Clubs Fair trying to get some first years invovled this year. Should be fun times.
